Independent JLR engine rebuilds and repairs, with collection from Bexleyheath, Welling and Sidcup.
Don't Have Reg..?
Range Rover Garage is an independent JLR specialist dedicated to Range Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar engines. Bexleyheath owners gain a dependable main dealer alternative, with factory-trained engineers who diagnose, rebuild and replace Ingenium, TDV6, SDV6 and TDV8 engines fitted to Discovery, Defender, Evoque, Velar and Range Rover Sport models.
Our workshop is in Grays, just over the Dartford Crossing, so you can drive over as a walk-in or book collection from across the DA6 and DA7 postcode areas, plus Welling, Sidcup and Erith. Diagnostics and an itemised quote come first, and most rebuilds take 7 to 14 working days.
Avoid Driving in Limp Mode
Limp mode restricts power to protect the engine from further damage. If your vehicle enters it, avoid motorway journeys and arrange collection, as continued driving can turn a simple sensor fault into a much more serious mechanical problem.
A persistent knock, falling oil pressure or blue smoke on start-up usually indicate internal wear that only a full Range Rover engine rebuild will resolve.
Each engine is stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, machined and rebuilt with genuine OEM parts, then pressure-tested and run under load before return to you.
Limp mode, warning lights, misfires or rough idle on your Land Rover need accurate fault finding before any parts are ordered or replaced.
Our engineers pair dealer-level diagnostic equipment with hands-on testing, and same-day diagnostics are available on most bookings once your vehicle arrives.
When repairs would cost more than your Defender is worth, we supply and fit tested reconditioned engines matched to its engine code.
Reconditioned units carry six months' warranty, with extended dealer-level cover of up to 24 months available.
Bexleyheath owners can reach our Grays workshop via the A2 and Dartford Crossing, or skip the journey entirely with our collection service from home or work. Either way, your vehicle is handled by factory-trained engineers who work only on Range Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar engines, using genuine or OEM-grade parts tested to manufacturer specifications. You approve an itemised quote before any work begins and receive direct updates from our team throughout, plus full warranty documentation on completion.
Collection Across Bexleyheath and DA6–DA7
Our Services
Beyond rebuilds and replacements, our engineers repair specific engine faults on Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Velar, Vogue, Discovery and Defender models for drivers across Bexleyheath and Bexley.

A rattle lasting a few seconds on a cold start is one of the best-known Range Rover common faults, usually caused by chain stretch. We replace the chains, guides and tensioners together, helping prevent costly valve damage later on.

Lost power on the A2, a whistle that rises with revs or blue smoke under acceleration can point to turbocharger failure. We check the oil feed, boost hoses and actuator first, so the replacement turbo lasts as it should.

Overheating, coolant loss with no visible leak or a creamy deposit under the oil cap can all indicate head gasket failure. Our engineers pressure-test the cooling system and inspect the cylinder heads for warping and cracks before repairing.

Many engine faults, including oil leaks, injector problems, sticking EGR valves and failed sensors, can be repaired without a rebuild. Targeted repairs keep costs proportionate, and every engine is tested thoroughly before your vehicle is returned to you.

For higher-mileage Discovery, Freelander and older Range Rover models, a tested second-hand engine can be the most practical way back on the road. We confirm full compatibility first, and every engine swap includes one month's warranty as standard.

Earlier Land Rover engines with a timing belt need it renewed at the manufacturer's recommended interval. We carry out scheduled and emergency belt changes, helping you avoid the bent valves and damaged pistons a snapped belt can cause.

Kevin Moran
"My Discovery Sport dropped into limp mode on the A2 near Bexleyheath. Their diagnostics found a chafed sensor wire behind the engine cover rather than a mechanical fault, and they explained the readings before quoting."
Louise Hammond
"The turbo on my Jaguar XF failed on the way home from Sidcup. They talked me through the options calmly, sent a written quote and rang before replacing an oil feed pipe they'd found damaged."
Andrew Lowry
"I live near Bexleyheath Broadway and work long hours, so collection for the Velar suited me best. They picked it up from outside my house and returned it the following week with everything explained."
