Independent JLR engine rebuilds, with collection from Mile End, Bow and Bethnal Green.
Don't Have Reg..?
Range Rover Garage is an independent JLR specialist working only on Range Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar engines. Mile End owners gain a practical main dealer alternative, with factory-trained engineers who diagnose, rebuild and replace Ingenium, TDV6, SDV6 and TDV8 engines across Defender, Discovery, Evoque, Velar and Range Rover Sport.
Our workshop is in Grays, Essex, east along the A13, and we collect vehicles from across the E3 postcode area, including Bow, plus Bethnal Green and Whitechapel. You receive full diagnostics and an itemised quote before anything starts, and most rebuilds are completed within 7 to 14 working days.
Mention Any Low-Fuel Running
If the vehicle ran very low on fuel shortly before problems began, tell us when booking. Running a diesel close to empty can draw air or debris into the fuel system, causing hesitation, misfires or difficult starting.
Blue smoke on start-up, a knock that worsens under load or falling oil pressure usually indicate wear that only a Range Rover engine rebuild resolves.
Each engine is stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, machined and rebuilt with genuine OEM parts, then pressure-tested and run under load before sign-off at our workshop.
Overheating in slow traffic, coolant that keeps disappearing or a creamy residue under the oil cap often point to head gasket failure on Land Rovers.
We pressure-test the cooling system, check the cylinder heads for warping and cracks, and repair before further engine damage develops.
If repair costs exceed your Defender's value, we supply and fit tested reconditioned engines matched carefully to its engine code.
Reconditioned units carry six months' warranty, and extended dealer-level cover of up to 24 months is available.
Owning a Range Rover or Defender around Mile End often means street parking and busy roads, which makes driving a faulty engine to a distant specialist impractical. We collect your vehicle, complete diagnostics and repairs at our Grays workshop, and return it once the job is signed off. Our engineers are factory-trained on Range Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar engines, fit genuine or OEM-grade parts and agree an itemised quote with you before any work begins, with direct updates throughout.
Collection Across Mile End and E3
Our Services
Beyond rebuilds and replacements, our engineers repair specific engine faults on Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Velar, Vogue, Discovery and Defender models collected from across E3 and east London.
Limp mode on the A12, a flashing warning light or hesitation pulling away from junctions can have several possible causes. Our engineers combine dealer-level equipment with hands-on checks to find the exact fault, with same-day diagnostics on most bookings.

A brief rattle on a cold start is a well-known Range Rover common fault, typically caused by a stretched timing chain or worn guides. We replace the full chain set together, helping prevent jumped timing and serious valve damage.
Explore More
Lost boost, a whistle under acceleration or blue smoke can signal a failing turbocharger. Before fitting a replacement, we check the oil supply, boost pipework and actuator, so the new unit is not let down by the same fault.

Plenty of engine faults can be corrected without a rebuild. We repair oil leaks, injector faults, sticking EGR valves and failed sensors individually, keeping costs proportionate, then test the engine thoroughly before your vehicle is returned to you.

For higher-mileage Discovery, Freelander and older Range Rover models, a tested second-hand engine can be a sensible, budget-conscious option. We confirm full compatibility with your vehicle before fitting, and every engine swap carries one month's warranty as standard.

Earlier Land Rover engines fitted with a timing belt need it renewed at the manufacturer's recommended interval. We handle scheduled and emergency belt changes, helping you avoid the bent valves and piston damage a snapped belt can cause.
Explore More"Our Velar started running roughly and using coolant after a long motorway trip. They found a leaking EGR cooler, replaced it with a genuine part and explained how the leak had been affecting combustion before handing it back."

"My Discovery Sport struggled to start after I'd let the tank run very low near Bow. Their diagnostics confirmed air in the fuel system rather than pump failure, and they explained the fix before doing anything."
Shazia Begum
"Updates on my Jaguar F-Pace came by phone rather than automated texts, which I preferred. They explained why the turbo had failed, gave me a written quote and checked with me before replacing a worn oil feed pipe."
Luke Harrison
"Parking near Bethnal Green is tight, so I mentioned the bay restrictions when booking collection for our Defender 110. They worked around it, picked it up on time and brought it back on the agreed day."
